It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

This is my favorite time of year. Thanksgiving/Christmas.....I Love it! It's the time of year where you make memories with your family and friends who you love most. It's the time of year where we give to those in need. It's a great time of year. Every year around November 1st, my husband always starts singing Christmas songs. And every year I think it's way too early. This year it happened again, but it brought a huge smile to my face. And I thought to myself "That's my man"!!! As I sit here looking at my bright and beautiful Christmas tree, My eyes tear up in knowing how blessed I am. I am blessed first and foremost by savior Jesus Christ. I am blessed because I have the most amazing Husband in the world. He is my best friend, the love of my life. I am blessed for my family (including all my wonderful in-laws) who have always been there and always loved....this season, am thankful!!!
I have so many things I want to share with you right now; but it's mostly "baby smith" talk. I have been feeling good, not too sick, but I find myself having to eat every two hours to feel good. I am extremely tired. I usually fall asleep by 9pm! Sleeping 12-14 hours. I'm not sure if this is because of the pregnancy or because I have quit drinking coffee, maybe a combination of both. Next Wednesday Joshua and I will be hoping to hear the baby's heart beat with our first Ultrasound! We are so excited about this. Joshua is beyond excited about his Child. Making plans already for family stuff and he is always guessing what the sex of the child will be. I am so blessed to have husband who is so excited about us having a child! He is always kissing my belly and talking to the baby already. I love it!
I am week 7 and they say that our child is the size of a blueberry during this week and weighs about 1/30 of an ounce - less than a breath mint!!! My baby's brain, bladder, tongue and esophagus are all developing and transforming, while his/her eyes are moving to the front of the face and his tiny eyelids are forming. The bones of his tiny limbs have started to form and all of my baby's major organs - heart, intestines, kidneys, liver, lungs and pancreas -- are forming and growing. In fact, my baby actually goes through 3 sets of kidneys during development with this week's development, being the second set.

Both the hands and the genital tube are present this week, but we can't tell whether it's a boy or a girl by sight at this point. In me, my baby has already become active swimming around inside and kicking. However, as he/she is much too small and well-cushioned that I can't feel him/her yet. But soon, I am sure I will! I am in love with my unborn child. I'd like to ask that you all keep us in your prayers in this time.

XOXO,

Positive=Baby Smith

Just one of the 9 tests I took! :)

As I sit here and write I am still in shock. On November 2 at 7:30 am my life changed. I couldn't believe the test was positive. I remember taking the test and setting on my counter in the bathroom and walking away to do laundry. I walked back into the bathroom to what i thought it would say not pregnant. But that little gray, and purple stick boldly proclaimed, PREGNANT. I swear to you, my heart stopped. I looked away, I looked back again, and then I laughed. To myself I said this is wrong! I went to the kitchen and downed a ton of water. Approximately 45 minutes when by and thank God I bought a double pack. Again PREGNANT! I sat on out couch not believing and pure excitement came over me. The phone rang. I new it was Josh. The first call I was not sure if I should tell him over the phone or not. He called to just to check in.
I wanted to do something amazing to surprise him to tell him he will be a Daddy in about 9 months, but my shock and nerves took over. After our first phone call, I called Him right back and told him the very exciting news! He was beyond excited. I knew right then, all would be okay. The excitement in his voice meant the world to me. I went to the doctor and got the results back Thursday morning. I am 5 weeks along. I know without a doubt that Joshua will be an amazing father to this daughter or son we have! I know my child will be so loved by all his grandparents, Uncles, Aunts and cousins. This is a new journey for us and we are so thankful for this! A lot of people told me not to share this great news until I was about 12 weeks because of anything that could happened. That is not me. I am asking you all now to be in prayer for us in this time. Pray for this little baby inside me that God is forming!

What's Brewin'

There's a lot Brewin' in the life of this second hand Smith. Fall is my favorite time of year even though the craziness in brown county and the shops sometimes are too much for any local. The vibrant colors are my absolute favorite.
This morning I woke up to the fresh
scent of brewed coffee and a husband sleep talking. haa haa. Oddly enough I realized then how colorful my life really was. Just like this photo things can seem dark, but you have to focus in on the colorful part of life. Time in this life seems to travel quickly and if you don't focus, you will loose your life. I truly believe that we are all called to Greatness. That God created us for a purpose only we can fulfill. Will you tap into what you have and make your life count? Life doesn't have to be all dark. We have the choice to call it either way!
The best part of standing at these choices of what to do in our life is that we do not stand there alone. We are traveling through this great adventure. With, may I add, many family and friends who will help us a long the way and most importantly, Creator of the Universe and if we will let him, he will take us on a greater adventure than we ever could have imagined. But we must listen, and we must be willing to go where he leads. We must choose our adventure with strength and comfort found in the fact that we know God is guiding us in that way.
I like to think of it as the “choose your own adventure books”.Ha.We must let go and trust in his perfect will for us, even if we do not understand the choices he has made for our life.

Within

For those trying to make the shoe fit.......

Sometimes we have to look within and search our souls. Once upon a time people used to share their thoughts, ideas and encouragement with each other. They used to be real. Few people I know are real. Most (as I have) try to make the shoe fit, even if it doesn’t. They put that smile on there face and say “All is great” when inside there are not. Being real doesn’t exist to them. I'm done with trying to make the shoe fit and just being happy with what I have.
People used to sit on there porches for hours and talk about hopes, dreams, hurts, pain and not worry about what is to come next in the day or what time it was, but to simply just enjoy the presences of who you are with! Virtual world is taking over. It’s all about facebook message’s, myspace, txting. I’m guilty of it just as much as anyone. But I’m finding I don’t want to waist much time in this aspect of that world. When did people stop being real face to face? Or is it me who has hidden herself and not seen the realness of people until now? Because of this I think it’s hard to find something that speaks to your heart. And because that kind of beauty is so rare, it stops you in dead in your tracks every time!

I love to write. I understand the power of words that are spoken or written. How we hold on to those words, but for me; sometimes I can’t express how I feel. So lately, I’ve want to learn Photography. So I can release what’s inside into something beautiful. Something that will stop people and help them forget the world for once quick second and remember that this journey called “life” that were all on, can be a joyful, pleasing, experience. That God has a plan for each of us if we take time to notice the small things and take joy in them. For all we have is today.
Here are some pictures that I took and edited. Yeah, most of them are of me, but as I learn the different aspects of photography, the more I will do with the things of my heart.
